About this file
The document is a "Response to Offeror Questions" file for Northern State University's Business and Health Innovation Center RFP NSU-2501, issued on May 22, 2025, in South Dakota. The RFP seeks a qualified contractor to provide and install a comprehensive audio-visual (AV) system for a new facility that will house business and nursing programs. The project involves equipping five classrooms, nursing skills labs, simulation suites, offices, a conference room, study spaces, and the Northern Innovation and Startup Center with advanced AV infrastructure, including network-connected displays, projection systems, audio processors, control systems, wireless presentation devices, and PTZ cameras. The substantial completion date for the building is December 9, 2025, with AV systems required to be fully operational by January 5, 2026, in preparation for spring classes beginning January 12, 2026.
The project is funded through the Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund (CPF) and will require prevailing wage labor rates. Specific technical requirements include Cisco network switches (C9300-48UN and C9300-48U models), UPoE (up to 60W) network power, and Samsung display specifications, with some flexibility for alternative manufacturers. Bonding requirements include a 10% or 5% bid bond and 100% payment and performance bonds. Electrical work will be coordinated through the project's general contractor's electrical subcontractor, and there are specific blackout dates for work, including major holidays. Contractors must demonstrate technical expertise through manufacturer certifications and AVIXA credentials, with a focus on system performance, compatibility, and integration with NSU's existing technological infrastructure.
