About this file

This Statement of Interest Form is submitted by Reedsport School District (Oregon Department of Education) for customized coaching and professional learning services in the focal area of Leadership for General Continuous Improvement. The district seeks coaching support to implement a new strategic plan adopted in June 2026, with emphasis on leadership development, continuous improvement systems, and community engagement. The intended coaching structure includes monthly in-person meetings with the full leadership team and more frequent sessions with the Superintendent and Elementary Principal. The coaching provider will work with the district's leadership team, which includes the Superintendent/Elementary Principal, Elementary Vice Principal, High School Principal, and Special Education Director. The district prefers in-person coaching exclusively, with virtual planning sessions permitted. The desired start date is as soon as possible, and the coaching provider will utilize the CCPL Progress Monitoring Framework (to be released in late summer 2026) to measure student-focused performance growth targets using state assessments and MAPs interim assessments. The Notice of Opportunity will be distributed to several pre-approved vendors including Community Design Partners, TNTP, WestEd, Sterling Literacy Consulting, Education Northwest, Educational Excellence, New Teacher Center, HMH-The Center for Model Schools, Instructional Leadership Collective, and Inflexion.

The coaching opportunity has a Not To Exceed budget of $100,000.00. Reedsport School District (510 students across two buildings) has identified significant needs including a newly reconstituted school board with limited tenure, a 20.5% special education population, community eligibility for food service poverty programs, and low community engagement driven partly by negative social media contexts. The district will continue existing partnership with IRRE for teacher coaching focused on student engagement and measurement practices. The coaching outcomes target improved student outcomes, enhanced board engagement with the strategic plan, increased community awareness of student priorities, and strengthened leadership teaming strategies. Potential challenges for vendors include limited lodging (one Motel 6) and winter road conditions; vendors may prefer to base in Florence or Coos Bay. The district operates on a four-day school week but can accommodate Friday leadership meetings.
