About this file
This is a federal notification document regarding REAL ID compliance requirements for the U.S. Army, effective May 7, 2025.
Beginning May 7, 2025, the U.S. Army will require REAL ID-compliant identification for access to military installations and facilities, as well as for boarding domestic commercial flights. All Department of Defense-issued identification cards are REAL ID compliant, as are most state-issued driver's licenses. REAL ID-compliant cards display a star marking on the upper top portion of the card. Individuals without a REAL ID-compliant identification must present two forms of identification: a state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID, plus one additional document from an approved list including U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, Department of Defense ID (including dependent IDs), acceptable photo ID from federally recognized Tribal Nations/Indian Tribes, HSPD-12 PIV card, transportation worker identification credential, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766), U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential, or Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC). A complete list of TSA-acceptable identifications is available at tsa.gov/id. Individuals who arrive at the installation without either a REAL ID-compliant identification or two approved forms of ID must be escorted to enter. For additional questions, the Letterkenny Visitor Center can be contacted at (717) 267-8003 or 8055.
