The contract involves providing legal representation to eligible individuals appointed by the court, primarily covering misdemeanor trial cases, appeals, probation violation proceedings, material witness representation, and other legal matters involving potential loss of liberty that require court-appointed counsel.

The compensation structure provides flat-rate payments for various legal services, including $400 for non-trial dispositions, $550 for half-day trials or dispositions on trial dates, $800 for multi-day trials and appeals, $300 for probation revocation cases, and $750 for mental health court proceedings. An additional $100 compensation is available for Spanish language services. The payment terms specify reimbursement for reasonable, pre-approved case-related costs, with specific nuanced pricing for multiple docket appeals and different case types.
