About this file

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 209-2526 is issued by the Polk County Procurement and Purchasing Division for Detention Supplies for the Polk County Jail and Juvenile Detention Facilities in Iowa. The solicitation seeks quotations for two separate product categories: Clothing Items and Supply-Hygiene Items, with vendors required to quote all items within their chosen category. The quotation period opens and responses will be accepted electronically via BidNetDirect.com until 2:00 p.m. CST on May 27, 2025. The initial contract term will run from June 1, 2025, through November 30, 2025, with the potential for up to three additional six-month extensions if service and product quality remain satisfactory.

The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible vendor for each product category, with strict pricing requirements. Vendors must hold their prices firm throughout the initial six-month term, and no price increases will be permitted during the contract period. Pricing must be all-inclusive, covering delivery, storage, and all associated charges. The county emphasizes a preference for products and labor from Iowa and the United States, and vendors must comply with equal employment, non-discrimination, and sustainability reporting requirements. Delivery will be made to either the Polk County Juvenile Detention facility or the Polk County Jail in Des Moines, with orders anticipated approximately once per month and quantities subject to adjustment based on actual usage.
