About this file
This is a questions and answers document from a mandatory pre-bid walk-through for DQ DOR17004 UPS-Distribution System conducted on August 17, 2016. The project involves the removal and replacement of UPS and Liebert equipment, with new equipment installation permitted in an alternative location within the room without requiring demolition. The current system includes deep cell 12V batteries (BAT L-A 12V 284 w/cell Plyprop), 36 cells in total, which are replaced every 4 to 5 years. The existing bypass switch is currently off due to previous short-circuiting issues, and the agency does not possess wiring diagrams for the bypass system. The sole breaker is labeled UPS-AC Input, and the bypass is believed to tie into the PDU, though the original installation details are uncertain. New equipment may remain in a temporary location until fully operational while old equipment is removed, with elevator access permitted for equipment transport, provided batteries are moved separately. The agency retains responsibility for floor tile replacement in areas where equipment was previously located.
Background checks are required for both bidders and sub-contractors, with costs not to exceed amounts listed in the DQ documents unless special circumstances warrant exceptions. An error regarding 208-4 wire plugs specifications was identified on page 6, section 3g of the DQ and has been corrected in an updated version posted to VSS. Photographers are permitted during site visits with the restriction that computer equipment cannot be photographed. The document does not address pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent information, or funding sources related to this contract opportunity.
