About this file

This is a Bid Questions and Answers document for a Nevada Department of Corrections procurement of utility task vehicles (UTVs), specifically Kawasaki Mule models. The bid solicitation requires 12 total UTV units consisting of 4000 series and 4010 series models, with detailed specifications for cab enclosures, bed lift kits, and snow plow attachments. Key clarifications provided include: all 12 units require hard cab enclosures with fully enclosed steel doors; 8 hard cab covers are needed for the 4000 models; all 12 UTVs require power lift bed kits (10 for 4000 models and 2 for 4010 models); all 4010 models need both front and rear steel door sets; and two 4WD 4000 models require snow plow kits with hydraulic lift systems. The original bid solicitation was posted on October 22, 2025, with a response deadline of November 20, 2025, and submissions are managed through NevadaEPro, the state's online procurement platform.

The procurement emphasizes competitive bidding with awards to the lowest responsible bidder, considering factors including product quality, total cost of ownership, location, and delivery dates. All equipment must be new and meet state standards. Nevada-based businesses that certify a majority of goods are produced within the state receive a 5% preference. Insurance requirements include automobile liability with a $1,000,000 combined single limit for owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles. The state encourages energy-efficient products and generally processes invoices within 30-45 days. No specific budget range was provided in the available documentation, though the procurement structure ensures comprehensive vendor evaluation through the state's established procurement guidelines and Standard Terms and Conditions for Commodities.

QUESTION_NBRCREATED_BYQUESTION_SUBJECTQUESTION_TEXTANSWER_TEXT
1JCSWETTCAB ENCLOSURESDO THEY WANT ALL HARD CAB ENCLOSURES? AND ARE THEY PARTIAL TO GENUINE KAWASAKI ACCESSORIES OR WILL AFTERMARKET SUFFICE?All 12 units should have hard cabs, the 4 - 6 seater units should be fully enclsoed w/ steel doors, and the two 2 - 3 seater 4WD units w/ snow plow attachments should be fully enclosed w/ steel doors.
2JCSWETTCAB ENCLOSURESTHERE ARE MORE CAB ENCLOSURES THAN MACHINES LISTED. DO THEY NEED THE EXTRAS FOR EXISTING MACHINES? OR DO YOU JUST WANT ALL 12 MACHINES BUILT IN THE SAME EXACT WAY?Item 4 in the bid solicitaiton will need to be amended to reflect a total of 8 hard cab covers for the 4000 models.
3LM2025SPECIFICATIONSItem 4 states (4) mule 4000 cab kits, is this the correct number or should it be 8 to match the requested number of mule 4000 models on the quote?

Item 5 states (10) bed lifts kits then in item 13 it calls for bed lift kit 4010 (2) am I safe to assume that every machine needs the power lift added?

Item 8 states (4) 4010 steel door sets then item 14 states (2) rear steel door sets 4010, guessing all 4010â??s should have the steel door option?

Item 11 calls for (2) snow plow kits, which machines would you like those on? Do you want those to have a hydraulic lift or just a winch? Item 4 reads 12 Mule 4000 cab kits, the correct number is 8.

All 12 UTV's require power lift bed kits. 10 bed lift kits for the 4000 models and 2 for the 4010 models.

All 4010 models need front and rear doors.

Two 4WD 4000 models require snow plow kits. Hydraulic lift preferred.
