About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation 19SP5026Q0012 regarding a Boiler Upgrade project at the U.S. Embassy Madrid. The document addresses 12 clarification questions from prospective offerors regarding project scope, specifications, and performance requirements. The project will be executed in two phases: Phase 1 (approximately 35 days in late June) will involve installation of a magnetic filter and heat water collector, and Phase 2 (approximately 25 days in September) will address flooring installation, with a total estimated performance period of 60 days. Key technical specifications include the requirement for two magnetic filters (one per boiler) for the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) return pump system, all stainless steel components (AISI 316L), installation of temporary DHW production heat pump equipment with piping and electrical connections, and floor resin replacement in a designated zone beneath the hot water tanks. Additional work includes dismantling of 40 mm PPR piping, reconnection of the DHW system circuit with shut-off valves and insulation, and installation of a bypass between tanks. Service must be maintained continuously throughout the project duration. Supporting documentation including photographs of conduits, drawings of the sub-basement area, and a marked plan for the floor resin replacement zone are referenced as attachments to Amendment 1 of the solicitation.
