About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation 19SP5026Q0015, issued by the Department of State US Embassy Madrid for Janitorial Services. The document addresses three contractor inquiries regarding service requirements and clarifies ambiguities in the original work statement.
The document confirms that window shade cleaning and dusting are required services per Section 1.3.8.1 of the work statement. Regarding carpet shampooing frequency, the government amended the requirement from quarterly to semiannual cleaning as outlined in Section 1.3.7.2, responding to contractor concerns that quarterly shampooing was excessive. The document also clarifies that current carpet shampooing operations utilize mechanical equipment rather than manual methods. All three clarifications were incorporated into Amendment 001 of the solicitation.
