About this file
The document provided contains questions and answers from a pre-proposal meeting for a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) for Architectural and Engineering Services to design a new office building for the John Day Watershed District. The project has a general budget of $275,000, and the agency has planned for a $2 million construction budget. The proposal should include a conceptual representation of how the new building could look, and the successful consultant will be required to provide site survey and geotechnical services as part of the project. ODFW will oversee the construction phase and work directly with the awarded consultant.
The document further clarifies that the project budget listed in the Request for Proposals (RFP) is a general estimate, and the final price will be negotiated with the successful consultant. The agency will provide an "Authorized Representative" to communicate directly with the construction contractor during the construction phase.

Questions and Answers from the Pre-Proposal Meeting September 12, 2023
Q: Can you comment on the project budget?
A: The project budget listed in the ITB (275K) is a general budget for the project. Once a successful proposal is accepted, ODFW and the Consulting firm will negotiate a price for the project. This price is not required to match the proposed budget listed in the RFP.
Q: Can you explain a little more about the conceptual implementation of the mock office?
A: The proposal will need to include a representation of implementing the RFP concepts on a regional aesthetic design in the proposal. This could be a conceptual rendering showing the best interpretation of how the building could look through a rendering or could be an example building from your existing portfolio.
Q: Will site survey or geotechnical services be provided by the owner?
A: The project will include both services into the proposal. Our agency will need the consultant to take on all those aspects for the project.
Q: What is the construction budget?
A: The agency has planned for a $2 million dollar construction budget for the office and site development
When ODFW gets to the construction phase the awardee of this Proposal will work with ODFW’s “Authorized Representative” who will then communicate directly with the construction contractor and all documents will flow through that one person.
