About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to the John Day Ponds Dredging Project, ITB S-63500-00003680, issued by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The project involves dredging two ponds in the John Day, Oregon area that have become filled with muck over the past 30 years. Key details include that the goal is to have uniform solids removal across the ponds, with the contractor responsible for fencing the work area and restoring the property to its original state upon completion. The contractor will be allowed to operate 7am-8pm, Monday-Friday, and will be compensated on a lump sum basis, not per cubic yard. Any debris removal required for the dredging will be paid through change orders, and the owner will provide the disposal site for the dredged material.

Regarding pricing, the owner will not currently consider changing the bid form from lump sum to per cubic yard. The owner will pay for any cubic yards in excess of 6,800 if the budget allows. The contractor will no longer be responsible for removal of the dewatered material. Certain environmental requirements, such as using environmentally safe polymers, must also be met.
