Statewide Trucking/Hauling/Courier Services Questions and Answers
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security received the following question from perspective bidders. Please see the Agency response.
Question: How is the pricing determined and do we need to bid each item separately?
Answer: Per Section 2.1.1 vendors shall submit pricing in the line items on BidBuy and vendors must bid on all line items to be deemed responsive. Awards will be made based on the lowest total cost of all line items. Please review section 2.1.1 for additional details.
Question: To provide an accurate quote we would need to know the L x H x W and weight of the commodities on average. This can affect load capacity, fuel efficiency, and potential permits needed. If there is no average can you provide the specs for the largest and heaviest commodity that might need to be transported?
Answer: On average all commodities are palletized on industry standard pallets in cardboard boxes and shrink wrapped. The average weight is 700 lbs.
