About this file

This Questions and Answers document from the Illinois Department of Agriculture addresses clarification requests for procurement 25-406AGR-ADMIN-B-45982 regarding Weights and Measures Echelon Calibration. The only question addressed pertains to certification requirements for the weight kit, specifically whether an accredited certification (12489-AC) is needed or if a basic kit without documentation (12489) would suffice. The agency clarified that a traceable or accredited calibration certificate must be provided with the weights.

This Q&A supplements the original solicitation for a Basic Ordering Agreement to procure Class 1 Weights manufactured by Rice Lake or equivalent, which requires NVLAP traceable certification and compliance with ISO 17025 (2017) standards. The response provides important clarification about certification requirements that potential vendors must meet to be considered for this procurement valued under $50,000.
