About this file
Amendment 0001 is a solicitation amendment for a mold remediation project at the Calverton National Cemetery's Committal Building, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration. The amendment specifically addresses a question from potential offerors regarding the scope of mold remediation work, clarifying that services extend beyond the HVAC system to include extensive mold growth around ceiling vents, ceiling tiles, internal structures, wall/ceiling cavities, framing, and insulation. The remediation requirements include replacing ceiling tiles with non-absorbent materials, removing and replacing insulation with mold-resistant options, and thoroughly cleaning and servicing the entire HVAC system, including the unit, coils, drip pans, filters, and air ducts. The solicitation number is 36C78625Q50328, with an effective date of 8/5/2025, and potential contractors are reminded to include a signed copy of the amendment in their quotation package.

The following questions were received from Potential Offerors, along with the corresponding answers:
Question 1 - Can you please confirm whether the mold work required is limited solely to the HVAC system, or if there are additional areas that also require remediation?
Answer 1 – Please refer to section A.1.2 of the Statement of Work. It states that “services shall include all extensive mold growth around ceiling vents on the ceiling tiles, adjacent side of the drop ceiling tiles, internal structures, including wall/ceiling cavities, framing, and insulation.” This section also states “After remediation has been completed, the ceiling tiles are to be replaced with a non-absorbent, moisture resistant ceiling tile such as tiles made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/plastic, tin/aluminum, or vinyl. As well, all insulation is to be removed and replaced with a mold resistant insulation such as stone wool or foam panels. Last, entire HVAC system including the unit itself, all coils, drip pans, filters and air ducts be thoroughly cleaned, serviced, and inspected.”
