About this file
This document is a question and answer (Q&A) file related to a Water Treatment Facility Re-Roof project in Florida, specifically addressing technical details about roofing installation. The document reveals that the project involves removing and replacing the existing roof system for a screened enclosure over a water basin, which sits on a low-profile continuous concrete curb. The agency has uploaded an original roof plan from 1969 to Vendor Link and is offering additional site visits to potential bidders who need more information, with functional drainage being a key project requirement.
The Q&A document indicates that bidders are seeking specific technical clarifications about the roofing installation, particularly regarding flashing requirements, vertical height available for new tapered insulation and membrane, and the need for a waterproof perimeter base flashing application. While precise financial details are not provided in this document, the file suggests that potential contractors will need to carefully evaluate the site conditions and technical specifications before submitting a bid. The project appears to require precise measurements and a thorough understanding of the existing roof structure, with the original 1969 roof plan being a critical reference document for bidders.

Question:
The screened enclosure over the water basin, sits on top of a low profile continuous concrete curb.
We are assuming you intend for us to flash up to and under the aluminum cap flashing. If so, there is not much room, and we need to know exactly how much vertical height is available to accommodate the new tapered insulation and membrane. We were not able to test this location above the adjacent roof deck. The entire perimeter base flashing of screen enclosure must be a waterproof application after the existing roof system is removed and new system installed.
Answer: An original roof plan from 1969 has been uploaded to Vendor Link. Functional drainage is a requirement of this project, so additional site visits are available to those who need additional information.
Are there any structural or as-built drawings available?
