About this file

This is an Addendum #1 to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) Palisades Region for hazardous tree removal at Harriman State Park's Baker Camp. The project involves the removal and disposal of 37 hazardous trees ranging from 5 to 30 inches in diameter, with some trees located in close proximity to buildings. Trees may be chipped and spread at an on-site location designated by park staff, while other materials must be disposed of off-site. The RFQ GC-3-2026 document includes a tree location plan, descriptions, and photographs for reference. Site visits prior to bidding are highly recommended. Work access is restricted to Monday through Friday with no holiday work permitted. Contractors may leave equipment on-site for consecutive workdays, though the park assumes no responsibility for equipment security.

Key operational details clarified in the addendum include that all wood chips must be trucked and dumped at a park-designated location, and all logs must be removed from the property. Power lines affecting work areas will be de-energized with coordination prior to work commencement. The park will provide contractors with information regarding septic tank and seepage pit locations and other underground utilities prior to work initiation. Debris already present on the property is excluded from this contract and addressed under a separate cleanup RFQ; however, contractors are responsible for debris resulting from tree felling activities. Only the 37 marked trees specified in the bid documents should be included in proposals; additional hazardous or dead trees not identified in the original documentation are excluded. Prior contracts for identical or substantially similar work were awarded to Cedar Pond Enterprises and Decker's Tree Service. Prevailing wage requirements apply and are referenced in the RFQ package documentation.
