About this file

This is a Q&A document for Request for Documented Quotation DQ1 2026-0456 issued by the State of Colorado for the procurement of an aluminum V-hull work boat, including delivery. The document addresses three key clarifications regarding bidder qualifications and boat specifications. The procurement concerns a small capital project (S26WAQ-11592) for a 4580 boat acquisition.

The Q&A clarifications establish that bidders with manufacturers holding NMMA and ABYC certifications and assigned MIC codes will be considered responsive, even if the manufacturing company has fewer than five years of business history, provided the owner has substantial personal industry experience and the products meet U.S. Coast Guard standards and government project requirements. Additionally, the document specifies that the length requirement for the aluminum V-hull work boat refers to centerline length rather than length overall, meaning a 20-foot centerline boat that measures 22 feet 2 inches in overall length due to an offshore motor bracket would meet the specification requirements. These clarifications ensure potential bidders understand the technical and qualification standards for submitting responsive bids.

Q&A

Aluminum V-hull Work Boat, including delivery

1. We would like to clarify that our manufacturer holds NMMA and ABYC certifications, as well as an assigned MIC code. While the manufacturing company itself has been in business for 5 years, the owner has over 40 years of personal industry experience in marine manufacturing and related operations.

In addition, we have successfully completed contracts with government agencies across the country, and our products meet the required industry and U.S. Coast Guard standards.

Given these qualifications and combined experience, could you please confirm whether our bid would still be considered responsive under the experience requirement?

Those qualifications (the company combined with the owner, and the government projects satisfying U.S. Coast Guard standards) will fulfill our requirements and your bid would be considered.

2. Hello, I have a question regarding the length requested on your Request for Documented Quotations DQ1 2026-0456. Is the length requirement for center line length or for length over all? Our boats have an offshore motor bracket so the length overall is 26" longer than center line length. For example our 20' Osprey is 20' center line length and length overall is 22' 2".

The measurement range for length refers to the center line length as described in the question, and not the "overall length".

3. Is the length requested center line length or length overall?

The measurement range for length refers to the center line length as described in the question, and not the "overall length".
