About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2025-015 issued by the City of Manitou Springs for the Sandra Lane project. The Q&A addresses key project details including stormwater permit requirements, bid bond forms, tree removal responsibilities, utility relocations, and potential weekend work. The project involves replacing an existing culvert and sanitary sewer line with a new 3'x7' precast concrete box culvert. The city targets project approval at the August 19th City Council Meeting, with a projected pre-construction meeting on August 20th-22nd. The contractor will need to complete work within 30 days after box culvert procurement, with potential flexibility depending on utility relocation timelines.

The document provides specific technical specifications, including paving requirements of three inches of asphalt per city specifications, removal and replacement of approximately 190 linear feet of type II curb, and 294 square yards of asphalt. Utility relocations for gas, electric, and fiber are required prior to project start, with the city offering coordination assistance. The project involves precise infrastructure management, including coordination with the city arborist for tree removal and submission of detailed plans for dewatering and night work. The contractor must adhere to city ordinances and obtain necessary permits, with approvals potentially granted on a case-by-case basis for specific work conditions.
