About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for Project 24-2537, a Water Service Line Verifications project for the Eastside Water System, issued by Muskegon County in Michigan. The Q&A addresses four key operational questions from potential contractors regarding the project, which involves verifying underground water service line materials at 350 selected sites, including excavation, material documentation, and site restoration.

The Q&A clarifies critical project logistics, specifically that the contractor will be responsible for: offsite transportation and disposal of excavated materials, finding suitable locations for equipment staging and material stockpiling, and providing appropriate backflow prevention when accessing water hydrants. While the County will not charge water usage fees, they will assist the contractor by identifying water hydrant connection locations and providing a 2.5-inch NST connection adapter for water filling. These details provide important operational guidance for potential bidders on their responsibilities and the support they can expect from Muskegon County during the project.
