About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Five for Cafeteria Services at their District office in DeLand. The RFP seeks proposals for operating a cafeteria to serve approximately 30-40 meals per day to the 461 FDOT employees, with roughly 275 on-site daily. The successful vendor will be responsible for the daily janitorial services in the food preparation and salsa bar areas, as well as cleaning tables and seating during normal operating hours. The Department's janitorial vendor will handle the overall cafeteria cleaning. The RFP requires a 20-day transition period, and the contract term is not specified. Respondents must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system and properly licensed if the services require it.
The RFP indicates that breakfast items should be priced between $5-$12, and lunch items between $8-$15. The vendor will be allowed to bring in their own equipment and make reasonable changes to the cafeteria layout and decor with the Project Manager's approval. The vendor may also provide catering services to other FDOT sites with management approval. No information is provided about set-asides, incumbent vendors, or funding sources.
