About this file

The document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) set for the Illinois Secretary of State's Chicago West Conveyor project (solicitation number 26-350SOS-PHYSE-B-48991), specifically addressing technical details for a conveyor system installation. The Q&A clarifies key technical specifications, including the conveyor's reversible functionality, product dimensions (approximately 24x20x20), and operational requirements. Vendors are informed that they must install power to the system, implement photoeyes at the top and bottom of the conveyor for product detection, and include emergency stop buttons at accessible points along the conveyor path to meet safety compliance standards.

The related contract opportunity details reveal a comprehensive procurement for a Flow Turn Conveyor system to be installed in the basement of the Chicago West Facility at 5301 W Lexington, Chicago. The contract will run from execution through June 30, 2026, with a maximum term not exceeding ten years. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with proposals due by September 3, 2025. Specific technical requirements include a 124" length, 20" width, 3" thickness conveyor, positioned 18" above stairs, with a 24" x 20" rain cover and a 1.5 HP/230-volt/4.5-amp motor. Mandatory pre-submission conference attendance is required, and vendors must provide comprehensive documentation including proof of insurance and compliance with various state procurement regulations.
