About this file
This document is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) Attachment E detailing Material Review Board (MRB) Exemptions dated 06 Dec 24, specifically for the T56 Series engine contract. The attachment outlines specific materials and components that are exempt from Material Review Board disposition by the government, which may be scrapped when they meet certain criteria and are beyond technical order overhaul reparable limits.
The exemptions cover multiple categories including: (a) materials under $5,000 replacement cost, (b) superseded material configurations like non-rub-tolerant T56-A15 turbine vanes and non-stiffened main diaphragms, (d) bearings, (e) electrical components rejected during testing with no rework criteria, (f) commercial off-the-shelf (CFM) materials excluding parts with life limits, and (g) common hardware like brackets, fasteners, seals, packings, and O-rings. The government retains the right to revise or update this list based on requirements, with deviations to MRB review requirements potentially identified by either the contractor or government and finalized by the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) or Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO).
