About this file
This document is Addendum No. 3 issued by the Maryland Department of General Services, Facilities Engineering Division for Project No. PW-670-210-003, which is to replace the boiler at the Maryland State Police Barrack W in McHenry, Maryland. The addendum provides details on the installation of a pad for three 1,000-gallon propane tanks, including the required stone base, weed block, and bollards. It also specifies that the propane company will run the fuel lines, but the contractor must trench, install conduit, backfill, and repair any damaged concrete sidewalk. The addendum confirms that the contractor may propose an alternative boiler manufacturer as an approved equal, as long as it meets the specified criteria.
The related state and local contract opportunity is only for the jurisdiction of Garrett County, Maryland. The contract does not mention any pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient information. The contract is for a one-time boiler replacement project.

1. Question - We would like to quote this work using an NTI Propane High Efficiency Boiler. Is this acceptable?
Answer – The Contractor may base his proposal using a different boiler manufacturer than the 1 that is spec’d out in the attached documents. However, the Contractor needs to keep in mind that it is an approved equal meaning it needs to meet all of the criteria that’s listed for the spec’d boiler and the Using Agency has the right not to accept an alternative boiler.
All other terms, conditions and specifications remain unchanged.
