About this file

This is a specifications document for a refrigeration project at Maine State Prison. The project involves two main components: the installation of one Bally indoor walk-in cooler measuring approximately 14' x 18' x 8'2" (without floor), and the conversion of an existing cooler to a freezer. The new walk-in cooler will utilize existing refrigeration equipment that will be relocated from the current cooler being converted. The vendor is responsible for furnishing and installing interconnecting piping between condensing units and coolers/freezers, with hangers spaced approximately 6 feet apart in accordance with Copeland Handbook Standards. All piping will be brazed using 15% silver brazing alloy, properly insulated, and systems will be charged to proper pressure and temperature with controls set accordingly. A mandatory walk-through is required for all bidders on Tuesday, December 18th at 9:00 AM at Maine State Prison, Warehouse Receiving, 807 Cushing Road, Warren, ME 04864. Prospective bidders should contact Pete Warman at 207-273-5530 or 207-273-5532 for directions and additional information.

The conversion of the existing cooler to a freezer requires a new refrigeration system consisting of one Trenton Model TESA040L6HT3BF condensing unit and one Trenton TLP52LES2B evaporator coil, which includes valves, temperature control, and drier sight glass. The condensing unit will be placed outdoors at ground level while the evaporator coil will be hung inside the facility. The project pricing includes delivery, setup, and all labor for installation and system startup. No specific pricing, funding sources, or contract award dates are provided in this specifications document.
