About this file
This is a Notice to Prospective Bidders from the Western Federal Lands Highway Division regarding a federal highway construction project.
The project, MT NP GLAC 14(5) - Many Glacier Road Landslides (Solicitation No. 69056726B000015), involves approximately 2.5 miles of roadway reconstruction at Glacier National Park in Glacier County, Montana. Work includes excavation, subgrade stabilization, roadway aggregate and asphalt concrete pavement placement, rock buttressing, riprap revetments, drainage improvements, and utility infrastructure. The solicitation is structured with a Base Schedule covering all work except utility infrastructure and Option A covering all utility infrastructure work. Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the project during fall, as access after the first week of December becomes weather-dependent; Glacier National Park can be contacted at (406) 888-7800 for current road conditions. No Federal Highway Administration personnel will be available for site tours.
Materials for the project—unclassified borrow, select topping, and aggregate—must be obtained from commercial sources outside Glacier National Park boundaries and certified free from noxious weeds and non-native invasive species through the North American Weed Free Forage Program or similarly recognized certification approved by the Federal Highway Administration. Contractors must arrange for inspections through Dawn LaFleur at Glacier National Park (dawn_lafleur@nps.gov) before material incorporation. The notice provides contact information for seven previously certified material sources, each requiring annual recertification. Solicitation documents will be available in fall 2026; prospective bidders should monitor SAM.gov for the release date and use the "Follow" feature for automatic notifications. Technical questions should be directed to wfl.plansspec@dot.gov; general inquiries to wfl.contracts@dot.gov or (360) 619-7520.
