AMENDMENT NO. 0001

DREDGE BOAT BASIN AND ACCESS CHANNEL AT U.S. COAST GUARD STATION GRAND

ISLE, LA

QUESTION/COMMENT #1: Is the 1’ of over depth that is allowed paid for?

RESPONSE: Yes. However, payment shall not be made for dredging deeper than the allowable over depth.

QUESTION/COMMENT #2: In order to provide a lower cost to the government, can work hours of 12 hours per day and seven days per week be allowed? Can 24/7 work hours be allowed?

RESPONSE: Twelve (12) hours maximum per day (only during daylight hours) and seven (7) days per week are allowed.

QUESTION/COMMENT #3: How much trash and debris is expected? Was there significant amount of trash that was deposited in the dredge area from previous hurricanes?

RESPONSE: It is only speculated that there may be some debris in the water adjacent to the Unit due to the recent storms; however, there is no debris visible.

QUESTION/COMMENT #4: When was the last time this area was dredged and how much and what type of debris was encountered?

RESPONSE: Last dredge in August 2019. There is no historical information on debris found.

QUESTION/COMMENT #5: Please indicate where we may have a staging area for equipment and pipeline on the coast guard property.

RESPONSE: The Contractor will be responsible for securing a staging area for equipment and pipeline; however a small area (concrete slab approximately 32’ x 15’) is available. There may be more space available if needed in the back field. Contractor shall be responsible for restoring to preconstruction conditions.

QUESTION/COMMENT #6: Can more information be provided on the disposal site in regard to the condition of its levees and outfall? Are there any improvements that must be made by the contractor prior to dredging?

RESPONSE: The current condition of the levees and outfalls is unknown. There are no known improvements to be made by the contractor prior to dredging. The contractor is required to restore the site prior to preconstruction conditions (except for the dredged material deposited).

QUESTION/COMMENT #7: Are we to dredge under the covered boat house? If so, can dimensions be provided of the length, width and height?

RESPONSE: Yes. Each of the two boat slips inside the boat house is approximately 16 feet wide x 50 feet in length. The height of the boat house from the waterline is roughly 14 feet, the tidal range will make this vary. This height (14 feet) is measured in the middle of the slip where it is highest. At the edges of the slip, the height may be a foot or two lower.
