A. SCOPE OF WORK

The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Medical Health Care System, Omaha VA Medical Center, needs to replace the existing HVAC R-410A split system in building 6 with a new R-410A system and in building 8 replace the HVAC unit with a new R-454B system, to meet A2L requirements. Additionally, a new mini-split system will be installed in the basement of building 6 to provide cooling in the mechanical room.

For Building 6, this project will require the Contractor to demo the existing Air-Cooled Condensing Unit (ACCU) and disassemble AHU to remove coil. Recover and dispose of refrigerant per EPA regulations.

Install a new Dual-Circuit Air-Cooled Condensing Unit meeting or exceeding:

• Daikin Applied Model RCS020D Dual-Circuit Air-Cooled Condensing Unit.

o 208/60/3, R-410A refrigerant, Dual Circuit, Scroll compressors, 2-steps capacity control. Evaporator Coil. Low ambient operation to 45 degrees F, Factory installed thru-the-door disconnect switch, condenser has slanted coils for hail protection, factory installed vandal guard, Liquid Line Refrigeration Specialties consisting of TXV’s, Sight Glasses, Filter Driers & Solenoids, hot gas bypass accessories including solenoids, spring isolation kit, 1-year unit parts and extended 4-year compressor parts only warranties

Install new Evaporator Coil meeting or exceeding:

• Daikin Applied Dual Circuit Evaporator Coil complete with the following:

o Dual-Circuit Coil to fit existing McQuay AHU for R-410A refrigerant, aluminum fins, copper tubes, 1-year warranty.

Reassemble AHU, furnish and install new insulated copper line sets, charge the system with R-410A refrigerant, pull vacuum and leak test they system.

Contractor shall supply and install a 3-ton mini-split wall mounted unit with inverter-driven technology in basement mechanical room in building 6. Ensure the unit meets the capacity requirement of turning down to 20% or more for part load conditions. Install the indoor wall-mounted unit and corresponding outdoor unit, ensuring all connections are made accurately and securely. Install new line sets, electrical wiring, and necessary components to ensure proper function of the unit according to manufacture recommendations. Ensure the unit is installed in an optimal location within the mechanical space for maximum efficiency and coverage. Coordinate with the COR on mounting locations for the indoor unit and mount in accordance with the manufacture recommendations.

Coordinate with the COR on a suitable location to mount the outdoor unit, either on a suitable base or wall bracket. Connect electrical to existing Panel MB in the mechanical room. Install new copper refrigerant piping with brazed connections, fill and test the system.

For Building 8, demo the existing AHU and condenser unit. Isolate and drain the water, steam, and condensate from the equipment and piping. Recover and dispose of refrigerant per EPA regulations.

Install a new Air Handling Unit meeting or exceeding:
