About this file

This Addendum #2 to Construction Documents is issued by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Wildlife, for the Lathrop State Park Pinon Campground Wastewater Project (IFB 2017000191). The project involves the furnishing and installation of a 2-inch HDPE force main system with associated infrastructure, including lift stations, manholes, air vacuum stations, cleanouts, and gate valves totaling approximately 8,500 linear feet of pipe. The work encompasses geotechnical testing, traffic control, field surveying, demolition, utility crossing locating, directional boring at three locations (totaling 433 linear feet), asphalt and trail repairs, site electrical service, and system startup and commissioning. All work must be completed by June 30, 2017. The addendum provides clarifications on design specifications, including confirmation that blasting mats are required for debris control, directional boring is permitted beyond minimum requirements with corresponding modifications to cleanout and air vacuum locations, a Red Lion HMI is acceptable as a limited SCADA system alternative, and the existing generator will be provided by the owner. Four add-alternate bids are available for bidder selection including a lift station driveway, yard hydrant installation, backup pump, and an alternate route along the main park road instead of the trail.

The bid schedule requires contractors to provide pricing for all base bid items and any selected add-alternates, with unit costs and total item costs clearly itemized. Bidders must certify minority business status, service-disabled veteran-owned small business status with required documentation, and Colorado labor percentage requirements for projects exceeding $500,000, with written justification required if Colorado labor falls below 80 percent. All addendums must be reviewed and acknowledged in the bid submission. The project is subject to Colorado procurement law including the General Requirements and Covenants for Capital Construction, and bidders must comply with instructions to bidders and all written specifications and construction drawings. The revised bid schedule reflects the addendum modifications, including the extended directional bore at US Highway 160 (163 linear feet), the addition of an air/vac assembly to the meter vault, and the deletion of the 2-inch PVC ball check valve from the wet well.

ADDENDUM #2 TO CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

This addendum forms a part of the original construction plans and specifications, and modifies the documents as noted below:

QUESTIONS:

1. Can blasting mats be eliminated if flying debris is controlled? – NO

2. Can the entire project be bored? - The minimum as indicated on the plans must be bored but beyond that Bidders can elect to bore as much as they wish. Note: Cleanouts and Air Vacs would still be required. It should also be noted that if boring depths modified the profile, Location and number of Air Vacs would need to be modified.

3. Could we assume a wall mounted panel with an HMI showing and recording the Flows, Pump run status and alarms be considered for the “Limited” SCADA system? – YES. A Red Lion HMI is an acceptable substitute to the CPU serial interface at the Visitor’s Center.

4. Addendum 1 added a Manual Transfer switch to sheet 14 – what kind of generator is required? No generator is required. The Owner has an existing generator.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT REVISIONS:

1. SPECIFICATION 16483 2.01 A. 5. a. – acceptable manufactures are:

General Electric Square D Allan Bradley Or approved equal.

2. Drawing SHEET 5 – extend directional bore to STA 54+50 instead of STA 54+00.

3. Drawing SHEET 13 – the bottom detail “ FORCE MAIN ELEVATION” is mislabeled – it should read

“CLEANOUT DETAIL”

4. Drawing SHEET 14 – the Generator shown will be “provided by Owner”.

ADDENDUM ATTACHMENTS:

1. BID SCHEDULE – to replace previously posted bid schedule. Add alternates may be selected in any order, or none may be selected

2. CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS

SHEETS 8 - US HWY 160 Bore revision – CDOT requested that the casing extend from ROW to MH so the overall length of the bore and casing pipe has increased to 163 LF.

SHEET 9 - Air/Vac assembly has been ADDED to the 4’ meter vault; 2” PVC Ball Check Valve in wet well has been DELETED

SHEETS 15, 16, 17, 18 - depicting an alternate route for the force main which parallels the main park road instead of the trail along the lake.

Please make sure to acknowledge this #2 on the bid schedule.
