STATEMENT OF WORK

STATEMENT OF NEED, PURPOSE, AND/OR OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this requirement is to acquire public health and national service focused training content and material development and training facilitation for AmeriCorps State and National Public Health AmeriCorps members and staff of grantee organizations. This Statement of Work (SOW) supports the efforts of Public Health AmeriCorps to offer training to its members and grantee staff. It seeks services including virtual facilitation and content delivery, content development, and training material development and production. This vendor will be required to work closely with the AmeriCorps State and National staff and the training logistics vendor to align training schedules and material delivery and set up in the base year.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The mission of AmeriCorps is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic participation through service and volunteering. AmeriCorps has helped to engage millions of citizens in meeting community and national challenges through service and volunteer action. AmeriCorps seeks to direct the power of national service to solve a common set of challenges; expand opportunities for all Americans to serve; build the enduring capacity of individuals, organizations, and communities to effectively use service and volunteering to solve community problems; and embrace innovative solutions that work.

Public Health AmeriCorps is a partnership between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and AmeriCorps established with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act. The program will recruit and build a workforce ready to respond to the public health needs of the nation and provide public health service in their own communities around the country. The partnership leverages the expertise of both agencies, capitalizing on AmeriCorps’ experience managing public service and workforce development programs, while benefitting from CDC’s technical expertise as the country’s leading public health agency. Public Health AmeriCorps members will work across the country, helping to improve the health of communities. The program will open the door of working in public health to a new generation, bringing new talent to conduct public health activities firsthand.

The AmeriCorps State and National (ASN) team is made up of fifteen full-time AmeriCorps employees that manage a portfolio of grantees. The vendor will be expected to work directly with AmeriCorps leadership managing the Public Health AmeriCorps program, including oversight for the training design and delivery for Public Health AmeriCorps members and grantee staff. The goal of the training is to provide grantee staff and AmeriCorps members with the knowledge and skills they need to have a successful year of service.

The desired outcomes include high levels of positive participant feedback and the acquisition of core knowledge and skills.
