About this file

This document is a Sole-Source Determination and Justification for the Oregon Military Department to issue a Purchase Order to Peterson Machinery Co. for replacement parts and service to repair the Caterpillar 518 Skidder at Camp Rilea Armed Forces Training Center. Peterson Machinery Co. is the exclusive Manufacturer's Representative for genuine Caterpillar parts and services in Oregon, Washington, and California, and is the only viable vendor to perform the necessary non-routine major repair and maintenance work to reseal the hydraulic hose-lines on this equipment.

The total estimated value of the contract is $12,618.11. The Oregon Military Department has determined that the goods and services under this sole-source contract are not available under any state-wide price agreements, inmate labor, surplus, or through any Oregon Forward Program Contractor. The findings support that a Caterpillar certified dealer is required to protect the equipment's trade-in value and warranty.
