About this file

This document contains Payment and Performance Bond forms required for the City of New London, Connecticut's Event Coordinator Services contract. The Payment and Material Payment Bond obligates the Principal and Surety to ensure all materials, labor, and services furnished in the prosecution of work under the contract are promptly paid. The Performance Bond obligates the Contractor and Surety to ensure the Contractor faithfully performs all contract obligations, including remedial work during the guaranty period, and certifies that all wages paid comply with Connecticut prevailing wage rates. Both bonds require corporate seals and signatures from authorized representatives, with the Surety's Attorney-in-Fact providing countersignature and attached Power of Attorney documentation. The Performance Bond restricts claims to one year from the expiration of the guaranty period, and no rights of action accrue to parties other than the named Owner.

The bond amounts are left blank in these template forms, indicating they will be specified in the final contract documents based on the project scope and contract value. Both bonds contain standard provisions waiving notice to the Surety for alterations, extensions, or forbearance, and provide remedies allowing the Owner to complete work through alternative contractors if the Principal defaults. The documents require certification from a corporate officer regarding the authenticity of signatures and the Principal's authorization. Claimants not paid for materials or labor under the contract may bring suit on the Payment Bond to recover justly due sums.
