About this file
This document contains photographs and specifications for HVAC units serving laboratory facilities, along with environmental requirements documentation. Four identical HVAC units are installed to serve lab modules approximately 40 feet by 18 feet each. The original unit specifications, documented on an installation nameplate dated April 28, 1992, indicate performance specifications of 66°F to 76°F with outside design conditions of 95°F to -10°F. Room temperature is maintained at 73.4°F ± 5°F with room relative humidity of 45% ± 5-10%. The system provides 85% filtration at 3 microns, maintains room pressure between 0.05 to 0.10 inches water gauge, and has a cooling capacity of 90,000 BTU/hour and heating capacity of 28.0 kW.
The environmental requirements table specifies different conditions for Laboratory Type 2/4 mechanical/dimensional fields (20°C ± 2°C with maximum rate of change of 1.0°C/hour and 20%-50% relative humidity) and electrical/electronic fields (23°C ± 2°C with 1.5°C/hour maximum change and 20%-60% relative humidity). Laboratory Type 3 general conditions require a range of 18°C to 28°C with a preferred setpoint of 23°C, 2.2°C/hour maximum change, and 20%-70% relative humidity. The current system components include a Carrier chiller unit (model 38AR2008---601CA), a Control Solutions Inc. control panel, and a DRI-STEEM humidifier (model VH99-6). Additional heat transfer coil equipment is present with specifications indicating hot water at 200°F maximum and R22 refrigerant capability.

Text version
Here are some pictures on the HVAC Units, all four units are identical. All four units must be able to support the Mechanical/Dimensional Requirement stated in the environmental requirements document. Each lab module is approx. 40’ x 18’. The original heating and cooling requirements stated on the info panels for the lab are also attached, however I am not sure how the current system aligns with those specs.
