About this file

This document is a compilation of Requests for Information (RFI) responses regarding cubicle furniture and installation requirements for solicitation PAN41326P0000026812 at Fort Shafter. The contractor is responsible for providing all office cubicle furniture, materials, delivery, assembly, and installation in a turn-key project with a 180-day completion timeline from contract award. The Government will not furnish furniture and has no manufacturer or product line preferences; the contractor must submit furniture designs and Bills of Materials upon contract award. Specific workstation dimensions are mandated: panel heights of 65x60 inches, 65x30 inches, and 65x36 inches; desk spaces of 30x60 inches; and L-shape configurations of 24x36 inches, with workspace finishes to be selected post-award. Each workstation requires two duplex electrical receptacles, cord grommets in specified locations, overhead storage bins with locks, task lights under overhead bins, desk pedestals with locks, and pencil trays.

The contractor must provide electrical drawings and ensure furniture electrical systems are functional by connecting modular furniture to existing building power using licensed electricians compliant with all regulatory guidelines. Critically, the contractor must use existing circuits and panels only; no new circuits, breakers, conduit, or additional panels are approved, and any work beyond the existing infrastructure scope must be reported to the Contracting Office as out-of-scope. Workstations are not to be fixed to walls or floors, and the Government will provide all data line installation. The solicitation closing date was amended to 21 July 2026 at 1200 HST, with an amended SOW and solicitation posted 15 July 2026. Separate line items are required for Option 1 and Option 2 (licensed electrician connection services), with Option 2 limited to connecting the furniture electrical whip to existing building power sources only. A pre-award site visit was offered to prospective contractors, and interested parties should contact MAJ Patricia Miaga at patriciaclaire.m.miaga.mil@army.mil or 831-220-1800 for additional information.

1. Per SOW 3.5.2. Option 2: Electrical Connection: Provide a licensed electrician to connect the furniture systems to existing building power. This does not include running new wires, conduit, or J-boxes from the building's electrical panels. In order to power the modular furniture, we will have to run wires, no question there. But is it preferred for us not to run additional designated circuits?

Response: Use of existing circuits.

2. Existing panels/distribution. Are there any electrical panels close by in the building with room for added circuits?

Response: Use of existing circuits and panels, added panels are not approved.

3. Are we to utilize power poles and if so are they OFCI?

Response: Yes, use of power poles. Contractor shall use all required and approved equipment to meet safety guidelines and requirements. *Not sure what OFCI is*

4. Is there any Data required in the modular furniture?

Response: *Not sure the question they are asking here.* Government is required to run all Data Lines, not the contractor.

5. The drawing shows power down the center spline and also on the perpendicular panels in front of the main desk (has flipper door above). Is this correct that all the panels surrounding the L-desks are to have power available to place duplex outlets? Not just down the center spline.

Response: Each work station shall have two power outlets.

6. Furniture Anchoring Please identify whether any furniture components require anchoring to walls or floors and provide the applicable installation requirements.

Response: Work stations are not fixed to the wall or floors.

7. Existing Electrical Infrastructure Verification

a. Please confirm that the existing electrical infrastructure, including the panelboard, branch circuits, and surface-mounted conduit system, has sufficient capacity to support the new modular furniture electrical distribution.

b. If additional circuits, breakers, conduit, panel modifications, or other electrical infrastructure improvements are required, please identify the extent of work and provide revised drawings and specifications.

Response: KTR shall inform the Contracting Office for out of scope work

c. This version is streamlined and focused on the remaining issues that are most likely to affect procurement, pricing, and installation. It should be appropriate for submission to the Contracting Officer as a pre-bid RFI package.

Response: What is the question here?

d. Lastly, are we able to conduct a site visit for Wednesday 7/8/2026?

Response: Yes.

8. Based on the cubicle and furniture plan in the bid package, do you require the following items:

1. Does the overhead storage bin require a lock?

Response: Yes.

1. Do you require a "Task light" to be mounted under each overhead bin?

Response: Yes.

1. Do you require the desk pedestal to require a lock?

Response: Yes.

1. Do you require a convenience pencil tray with the pedestal drawer?

Response: Yes.

1. How many electrical "Duplex" receptacles are required per workstation?

Response: Two.

1. Per your exhibit isometric drawing, there are two cord "grommets" drawn in the primary desk located back left and right of the worksurface and back-center on the return worksurfaces. Are those grommets and their locations a requirement for each workstation and for the two private offices?

Response: Yes

9. Please confirm that we are to provide a separate line item for Option 1 & 2 as mentioned in the site visit and as per the Statement of Work.

Response: Yes, the solicitation will be amended to include the “Options” as part of the Request for Quote. A line item structure will be published in the amended solicitation.

10. For pricing on Option #2, please confirm that the requirement is for only a licensed electrician to connect the panel system electrical "whip" to the existing base building power source/junction box. Please confirm that there is no requirement to add any additional junction box, pipe & conduit or circuits as electrical work is beyond the scope of the FF&E scope.

Response: Electricians shall be licensed and meet all regulatory guidelines. Use of existing circuits and panels, added panels are not approved.
