About this file

This document is a labor law poster for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, specifically detailing the Paid Sick Leave Ordinance (No. 15-21-OR) issued by J.J. Keller & Associates, Inc. The poster provides comprehensive information about paid sick leave requirements for employers with 26 or more employees within Allegheny County, effective December 15, 2021. The ordinance mandates that employers provide 1 hour of paid sick time for every 35 hours worked within the county's geographic boundaries, with a maximum accrual of 40 hours of paid sick time per calendar year unless the employer designates a higher amount.

The poster outlines key rights and protections for employees, including the prohibition of retaliation against workers who request or use accrued sick time. Employers are required to notify employees of their entitlement to accrue and use paid sick leave. Employees who believe their rights have been violated can file a complaint with the Department of Administrative Services. The poster is bilingual, providing information in both English and Spanish, and includes contact information for obtaining additional forms and guidance, including a website (www.alleghenycounty.us/administrative/paid-leave-sick-ordinance.aspx) and phone number (412-350-1418) for further assistance.
