COMMENT:

With reference to Drawing Sheet A21-A24, ‘Note G’ on the exterior elevations should be omitted (Not Used). On the exterior elevations, lintels are referenced to photos on A27-A36 and called out for replacement with ‘Note E’.

1. Please reference drawing A49, door note D1. Which specification section applies for the new Kalamein doors?

ANSWER: Kalamein doors are a fire rated manufactured product consisting of solid wood, stile and rail, mortise and tenon, and covered with sheet metal - These doors are to replace the existing historic Kalamein doors documented as such in the HSR.

2. Please advise if the work shown on the photos on drawings A27 through A36 is part of the percentages given on Masonry conditions construction notes on drawings A21 through A25 or if they are in addition to those percentages.

ANSWER: Sheets A27-A36 are inclusive of the percentages.

3. Please confirm that the Masonry conditions construction note on drawings A21 through A25 which indicates: Metal components repair/ replacement: 5%, is required only for the lintels. For example would it apply to steel columns/ spandrels (column and spandrel steel cannot be quantified from the drawings, we would need exact sizes and locations to determine what the 5% is) or railing repair/ replacement?

ANSWER: Delete & disregard partial masonry conditions construction note #1 “Metal Components Repair/Replacement : 5%.

4. Regarding answer to Amendment 000002 Question 3: “This can be determined by utilizing dimensions shown on building elevations, sections and graphic scale shown on floor plans.” The dimensions given on the building elevations and sections are not adequate to quantify the extend of items like the cast stone cornice, water table, caulking replacement etc. We need the heights for these items. We get different scales when we utilize different dimensions shown on building elevations or the graphic scale shown on floor plans.

For example for West elevation A21:

Based on the 9’ dimension from basement floor to basement ceiling we get a scale of approximately 1” = 7.0’

Based on the 12’ dimension from 1st floor to ceiling we get a scale of approximately 1” = 7.6’

Based on the graphic scale on drawing A16 (2nd floor construction plan) the length of the building is 182.5’ from corner to corner (column lines A to N), applying that to East elevation we get a scale of approximately 1” = 8.0’

ANSWER: Elevations and sections are scaled at 1/8” = 1’-0”.

5. Exterior masonry conditions 12/A27 calls to repair coping stone. Is the location of 12/A27 indicated on column lines D/2 and note 31 on column line 1 on roof plan A17 part of part of the 35% cast/stone repair replacement?

ANSWER: Yes - refer to question 2 responses above.

6. Exterior masonry conditions 1,2,3,4,6/A27 call for repointing of interior side of parapet, roof plan A17 indicates that there is no repointing on hatched area, please advise

ANSWER: Correct – no work to be done at hatched area - Disregard details 1 -5/A27 and 6/ A27.

7. Please advise what is the extend of the repairs required at the metal steps per note 2 on A17

ANSWER: Metal steps including but not limited to treads, pans, stringers, railing posts and supports, are to be scraped, patched, sanded and primed for new paint finish - No ‘repair’ work required.

8. Please advise what is the extend of the repairs required at the columns per note 1 on A18

ANSWER: Column are to be scraped, sanded and primed for new paint finish - No ‘repair’ work required.

9. Please advise what is the extend of the repairs and restoration required at the iron latticework and ornamental rosette shown on 6/A52

ANSWER: Iron balustrade to be scraped, patched, sanded and primed for new paint finish. Missing parts and/or ornamentation are to be replicated to match existing.

10. Note 11 on A19: Assume 65% total plaster ceiling removal and replacement to accommodate new duct work, is this part of the new plaster ceiling hatched on the same drawing?

ANSWER: Yes, the new plaster ceiling hatch is a graphic representation of the scope.

11. The asbestos abatement tables don’t address the floor tile of the first floor which is part of option 1, should we assume that they are not hazardous?

ANSWER: The first floor tiles are not ACM.

12. Please confirm that details 2/A37, 3/A37, 4/A37 only apply to the 10% of sills that we are replacing/ repairing and not on all sills

ANSWER: Correct

13. Are the 50 lf of PCB caulking to be removed outside rooms 110, 115, 210, 213 indicated in the table on drawing AS2 equal or part of the 10% joint sealant replacement given on the Masonry conditions construction notes on drawings A21 through A25?

ANSWER: Scope on AS2 is inclusive of the 10% joint sealant replacement.

14. The PCB caulk table on drawing AS2 indicates that the elevation outside rooms 110, 115, 210, and 213 is the “North Elevation”. Drawing A22 indicates that this elevation is the “East Elevation.”

Please confirm which is correct.

ANSWER: East Elevation.

15. Please confirm that the Masonry conditions construction note on drawings A21 through A25 which indicates: Joint Sealant Replacement: 10%,is required for the cast stone quoins caulking? Is the quoins caulking to be considered as PCB caulk? If so, please provide exact quantities to be abated.

ANSWER: Yes, required for the cast stone quoins. If the caulking isn’t noted on the abatement drawings, then it’s not considered as PCB.

16. Please confirm that the Masonry conditions construction note on drawings A21 through A25 which indicates: Joint Sealant Replacement: 10%,is required for the window perimeter caulking? Is the window perimeter caulking to be considered as PCB caulk? If so, please provide exact quantities to be abated.

ANSWER: Yes, required for window perimeter caulking. If the caulking isn’t noted on the abatement drawings, then it’s not considered as PCB.

17. Please confirm that the masonry exterior work for the Level 3 Tower Cab Office 301 should be included as part of Option #2.

ANSWER: Yes, to be included as Option 2.

18. Please confirm that the exterior work for the Control Tower Cab should be included as part of Option #3.

ANSWER: Yes, to be included as Option 3.

19. Please refer to details 2 and 3 on drawing A25. These details indicate that the work of the Level 3 Tower Cab Office 301 to be part of Option #3. Based on detail 1 on drawing A25, this should be part of Option #2. Please clarify.

ANSWER: Detail 1 depicting add options is correct.

20. Who is the current Fire Alarm vendor for the building?

ANSWER: TBD (undetermined as of the posting but will try to provide. Bid with available information).

21. Please reference Drawing A19 (room 212), detail 4 on drawing A20 and spec 095436. The spec doesn’t seem to match up with the drawing. Spec calls out for C2 Paired Compasso, but the drawing looks like they want a Gridware system. Please clarify.

ANSWER: The open cell system is to be a USG Grid with Compasso Suspension Trim.

22. How do you quantify the area of the cornice. There is no height reference on the drawings.

ANSWER: The overall height of the cornice is 4’-7” measured from our drawings.
