Amendment Five

In order to answer the final questions received, the above numbered solicitation is hereby amended as follows:

1. The following questions have been received and answers provided.

Clarification of the answer to previous Q11 from Amendment Four: The 45,000 gallon tank should be a bolted 45,000 gallon tank as noted in specification section 22 12 09 and as identified on Subsheet No. C5.59. It should be noted that this tank needs to be the specified size due to limitations on space in this area. A welded tank will be considered and reviewed but in both the specifications and drawings it states the tank shall be a bolted steel water tank.

Amendment No. 4 included the revised the specifications to include the correct AWWA standards for the specified 45,000 gallon bolted water storage tank.

However, the AWS and AWWA welding references were retained as it is likely there will be piping components that attach to the tank that will be welded, irregardless of whether the rest of the tank is bolted or welded.

Q12: There is conflicting information between the plans and the specifications regarding the Army Corp of Engineer permits. Will all permits be provided for all stream crossings or will the contractor be require to procure the permit?

A: The Government will provide the US Army Corp. of Engineers Permit (Section 404 of the Clean Water Act) for all stream crossings. The awarded Contractor will be provided this USACE permit and then shall comply with this Government furnished permit.

Please, refer to Specification Section 01 11 00 (Summary of Work--1.17 Permits- -The Park will provide the following permits. Item No. 2) and in Specification Section 01 31 00 (Project Management and Coordination - 1.9 Permits - Government Furnished Permits) it again references the 404 permit as a Government furnished permit and that the terms and conditions of the permit shall be adhered to. Also, on the drawing, subsheet no. G5.06, General Notes, No. 31 it notes that the Contractor shall comply with the US Army Corp of Engineers 404 Permit as provided to the Contractor.

Q13: Section 01 27 00, Paragraph C, Subparagraph 1 states that topsoil will be spread along Four-mile Road. The plans do not include a cross section which would indicate the depth and width of this topsoil on the shoulders. Please clarify the extent, depth and width the topsoil will be spread along the edges of Four-mile Road?

A: The reference specification section is referring to the existing utilities that are to be removed along the 4-Mile Road. Therefore the topsoil placement is limited to the areas near the road where utilities are being removed (Ref. subsheets C7.33 to C7.35 and associated notes). In these disturbed areas where utilities will be removed along 4-mile road the topsoil depth will vary between 6 and 12 inches.

Q14: Per Section 01 11 00, Summary of Work, Paragraph 1.6C, Sub-paragraph 3, “The Phase 4 contractor will complete the stockpile of structural fill materials for use by the Phase 5 Contractor by July 1, 2016,” please indicate the quantities and locations of these stockpiles which are not asphalt concrete if any.

A: There is no additional structural fill outside the asphalt material. The structural fill that is referred to in Specification Section--01 11 00--Summary of Work is the same material referenced as asphalt grindings and chunks of asphalt from Phase

4. So the total quantity of this asphalt grindings/structural fill material is 4,500 cubic yards (4000 cubic yards that will be stockpiled in one lane along the Mariposa Grove Road--The stock pile area will be located 2 Miles East of the new South Entrance Visitor Contact--Parking Area. The 500 cubic yards of asphalt chunks is stockpiled at the former DNC Stockpile Site identified on Subsheet G5.13, between stations 28+00 and 30+00.) Note the asphalt grindings have some aggregate base material blended into it. The asphalt will be ground to a depth that includes a small amount of base material that was supporting the old asphalt surface.

A contractor will have to provide any additional fill material beyond the 4,500 cubic yards noted above and what they generate onsite.

2. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
