About this file

This is Addendum #1 from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Engineering Branch for Project P1599036, regarding Filtration and UV System Installation at Mt. Shasta Hatchery in Siskiyou County, California. The addendum, dated May 17, 2016, modifies the original bid documents to reflect that the UV equipment will be installed in a prefabricated metal chamber instead of the originally planned concrete chamber. The scope includes installation of state-supplied equipment, site work with underground piping and ADA improvements, construction of a new metal building with foundation, and electrical installation. The contractor must employ a California-registered civil engineer to design the footings for the new steel fabricated metal building.

The bid form requires contractors to submit lump sum pricing for five main items: mobilization/demobilization, site work including underground piping and ADA improvements, new metal building including foundation, installation and start-up of state-supplied equipment (including UV chamber purchase), and electrical installation. A contingency amount of 0-10% may be added to the project as determined by the Engineer at time of contract award. The estimated quantity of excavation for the building foundation is 130 cubic yards, with material to be spread and compacted south and west of the new building. Large diameter butterfly valves must be lug type, wafer by ABZ Valves and Control Model 397 or approved equal.
