About this file
This is Addendum #5 from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Engineering Branch regarding bid number P1599029 for Fish Raceway Replacement at Kern River Hatchery in Kern County, California, dated May 24, 2016. The addendum makes several key changes to the bid documents, including deletion of the metal shade cover (Section 13 34 19) and revisions to the drawing set. Major changes include: deletion of repairs to North raceways and existing channel/weir/sandbox walls, moving the flume raceway and related components to Additive No. 1, and extending overflow lines and water supply lines to the discharge pond. The revised drawing set H15-2016-001 Rev. 2 dated 05/24/16 contains eight sheets.
The bid form includes seven main line items plus contingencies, with work including mobilization/demobilization, site demolition work, new concrete work, piping, tanks installation, aluminum fish screens, and an additive bid item for constructing a flume raceway system. All items are to be bid as lump sum prices. Contingencies may range from 0-10% as determined by the engineer at time of award. The contract will be awarded based on either Total Bid #1 (base bid) or Total Bid #2 (base plus additive). In case of tie bids, the winner will be determined by coin toss.
