About this file

This is Addendum #1 from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Engineering Branch for Project P1599029, Fish Raceway Replacement at Kern River Hatchery in Kern County, California. The addendum modifies bid documents, changes the bid opening date to May 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM, and provides attendee lists from two mandatory jobwalks held on May 9 and May 10, 2015. Key project components include demolition of existing fish raceways, construction of new raceways, installation of round tanks with piping, and other site improvements including control of water during construction and temporary desilting basins.

The bid form includes eight line items covering mobilization/demobilization, site work and demolition, concrete work, piping, tanks installation, aluminum fish screens, and two additives - one for channel wall/weir wall work and another for repairs/epoxy coating of north raceways. Contingencies of 0-10% may be added at the Engineer's discretion. The project includes specific requirements for fish culture tanks including viewing windows, stainless steel fasteners, and removal of dome covers from the bid. Eleven contractors attended the mandatory jobwalks, primarily from the Bakersfield and Central Valley areas of California.
