2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:
The Department of Veteran Affairs NCO 7 Network has a new requirement for a strategic source procurement for the purchase of Stealth Station Navigation Instruments for the Atlanta VAMC. This Brand Name Justification is being issued to document the Procurement Strategy.
The estimated value of the proposed action is $11,690.00
3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used:
The StealthStation Navigation Instruments are used by neurosurgical and spinal surgeons during surgical procedures with the StealthStation S8 Navigation System to help deliver better patient outcomes. These instruments are the industry standard for neurosurgical & spinal patient care for Veteran beneficiaries.
The StealthStation surgical navigation system enables you to precisely track the location of surgical instruments throughout a procedure. The StealthStation surgical navigation system offers both optical and EM tracking capabilities, integration with external devices like microscopes and ultrasound, a broad array of instrument offerings, and core software applications for neurosurgery and spine procedures
4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:
Market research was conducted through a VIP search using NAICS 339113 and keyword “Stealth Station Navigation” There were 32 results returned. RFI emails inquiries yielded 2 potential authorized SDVOSB vendors.
5. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b). I certify that the foregoing justification is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
