About this file
This is a market research report for the Long Beach Police Department's requirement for replacement protective equipment including groin protectors, face masks, and throat/collar protectors. The required products are manufactured in Canada by Simunition and have an estimated value of $19,387.64. Extensive market research was conducted including searching the Vendor Information Pages database, contacting manufacturers and distributors, and issuing requests for information. While several small business distributors were identified, no SDVOSB/VOSB vendors offered the name-brand Simunition products required. The procurement will proceed as a small business set-aside on the open market in order to promote competition while achieving reasonable pricing and meeting Buy American requirements.
