About this file
This is a Statement of Work for furnishings and installation services at the VA Boston Healthcare System's Brockton campus.
The project involves procuring and installing mirrors, stainless steel shelving units, and dual solar window shades in Rehab and Dementia wards at Building 4, First and Second Floors. The scope of work requires the selected contractor to remove and dispose of two existing damaged mirrors, supply and install 70 capsule-shaped framed mirrors (18" x 36", polished chrome or nickel finish), and install 70 solid surface wall shelves (12" x 12" x 5", glossy or matte finish). Additionally, the contractor must install 104 dual solar window shades (54" high x 48" wide, Draper Flex or approved equal) with room-darkening back fabric (SB9000 Series) and 5% open weave front sheer fabric (ATF2900 Series), both in oyster/beige, featuring clutch mechanism operators with continuous metal chain loops and ivory fascia. The contractor is also responsible for relocating 16 paper towel dispensers. Delivery must be completed within 14 weeks of contract award, with specific coordination required through the facility's shared loading dock. All installations must comply with Mental Health Environment of Care (MHEOC) guidelines and prioritize patient safety. The contractor must provide detailed shop drawings with dimensioning and wall reinforcement specifications, product data with catalog and model numbers, and samples of all materials, finishes, and fabrics. The work includes design services and removal/disposal of existing fixtures, with particular attention to special precautions for work conducted while units remain operational.
