(RFIs received by vendors)

1. May we receive existing conditions plans? It is hard to determine the edge of the gravel road in relationship to the proposed asphalt paving. DGS - There are no Existing plans available.

3. What is the depth of the mulch for the trails? KCI – 3” mulch depth.

4. Where can I find the bid form to input our figures? DGS – There are no physical bid forms. Bids should be submitted electronically through the eMMA system. Please refer to the following quick reference guide:

https://mdprocurement.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/70000592965-responding-to-solicitations-ifb-vendor-

5. Where can I find the MBE Attachment D-IA Forms? DGS - For this SBR Project, the

MBE forms are not required

6. Reference page 18/63; section 3.05: Are wage rates required on this project? I did not see them in the list of bid documents DGS – No wage rate is required for this project.

7. Reference page 19/63; section 3.09: Is an inspector's office required on this project? DGS

– No Inspector office is required. DGS will provide inspector to represent the State.

8. Reference page 21/63;section 3.14:Please confirm that we are only responsible for installing the sediment control items, as shown on the plans. DGS – Confirmed.

9. Will any third party testing be required for this project for compaction testing? KCI – Yes, compaction testing should take place for the paving sections.

10. Will there be an asphalt pricing adjustment for PG 64-22? This should be based on the

SHA Prevailing Monthly Price for Asphalt per/ton at the time of delivery to the work site. Please clarify that this price is to be based on June 2023 at $612.50. KCI would defer to

DGS on this question.

11. On the drawings it shows Add Alternate for Non-ADA Mulch Path in multiple locations.

On eMaryland Marketplace there is only one (1) line item which is Lump Sum. Where are we to include this pricing and what is the bid quantity? DGS – An addendum will be posted to the solicitation and the pricing legacy will be updated to reflect the “Add-Alternate item”.

12. When do you anticipate issuing the notice to proceed and this work to start? Due to the camping season, it should be after Labor Day or before Memorial Day. Keep in mind that weather temperatures will play a factor. DGS – The starting date for this project will be

March 2024.

13. At the Camping Road Playground Area, it shows on the drawings a playground ADA flush mount half ramp system (manufacture/detail TBD)?? Could you provide additional information and details on what you are looking for. KCI – Willygoat ADA Accessible half ramp, model APS-ADAHALFRAMP, or approved equal.

14. At Acorn Loop Bath House where we are removing the existing drinking fountain, cap and abandon old line it says to add signage "use water fountain outside woman’s bathroom." Are we to cover the area with a sign and not worry about matching the brick? DGS – No brick matching work is required. The area will be covered by a sign.

15. At Beechnut Loop Bath House where we are relocating the existing drinking fountain to south wall, cap and abandon old line, are we to cover the area with a sign and not worry about matching the brick? Also are there any obstacles or changes required inside the bath house to relocate existing drinking fountain along the south wall? DGS – No brick matching work is required. The area will be covered by a sign. Contractor has the opportunity to see the site condition.

16. At Beechnut Loop Bath House it has a optional 16' x 18' relocated mulched surface seating area with picnic tables. It says "Optional" on the plans. Also, shows Optional Non-

17. At Beechnut Loop Bath House near Beechnut Loop Road there is an old existing culvert. Are we to remove this or it is to remain in place? KCI – The existing culvert is to be removed. The removal of the culvert, along with shifted parking and grading has been included in Addendum #2.

18. On the drawings it states trees that are removed are to be replaced in kind in same approximate location. Since we are only bidding at this time and have not had the pre-construction meeting this should have been identified at the pre-bid meeting which it was not. How are we to know or expect how many trees will have to be replaced? KCI – The trees to be removed will be identified during the pre-construction meeting. However, the plans account for up to 30 trees to potentially be replaced. Please bid based on that number, with a potential credit to be issued if less trees are required to be replaced.
