About this file
This document is an amendment to a Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) issued by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for the Public Health - Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Safe Sleep Grant. The RFGA closing date has been changed from May 23, 2022 to June 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. The RFGA evaluation date has been changed from June 17, 2022 to June 22, 2022. The amendment clarifies the eligible applicants, which include non-profit agencies, federally recognized tribes, local public health authorities, and organizations serving areas outside the Portland metro area. Applicants must have staff representation in Oregon and meet the "Responsible Proposer" requirements. The grant agreement is expected to start on July 1, 2022 and end on June 30, 2023.
The grant opportunity is intended to develop and implement culturally responsive community awareness campaigns to promote safe sleep for infants. Grantees must use the health messages developed by the Oregon Safe Sleep Coalition and align with best practices in safe sleep promotion. The lessons learned from these community campaigns will inform future safe sleep awareness campaigns by the MCH Section and Oregon Safe Sleep Coalition.
