About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the Old State Capitol State Historic Site Concrete Repair Project managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The project encompasses concrete repair work in the west underground garage pedestrian stairwell, including scraping and repairing spalled and broken concrete on ceilings and walls, followed by priming and painting with masonry paint designed for water repellency in high-moisture environments. Additional work includes removing and replacing a broken door frame on the lower level of the pedestrian hallway with a steel fire-rated left-swing door equipped with a closer and code-compliant hardware, and repairing broken ceiling concrete while replacing a missing bracket that supports a sewer line. A minimum of 51 percent of the work must be completed by the Prime Contractor as required under Illinois Compiled Statutes (30 ILCS 500/1-15.17).

The contractor must comply with all applicable licensing requirements from local, county, state, and federal agencies and is prohibited from performing services or incurring expenses exceeding the contract amount without prior written authorization from the state. IDNR reserves the right to suspend work at any time if the Primary Job Coordinator determines that work has not met desired project goals. The document includes reference images depicting examples of the desired concrete repair quality and completion standards.
