About this file

This document is a notice from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Bureau of Infectious Disease regarding their pediatric immunization program. The notice states that the Department plans to purchase vaccines from a list of vendors approved by the CDC through the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, which has been in place since 2004 and is currently authorized by state law. The program enables the Commonwealth to purchase vaccines at the lowest available pricing directly from the vaccine manufacturers, without using third party wholesalers. The vaccines are then distributed through the CDC's McKesson vaccine distribution contract at no additional cost to the Commonwealth. The vendors under contract for this program are GlaxoSmithKline LLC, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Pfizer, Inc., Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics, and Sanofi.

The related state and local contract opportunity is for the Pediatric and Adult Immunization Program in Massachusetts, with the contract ID of NOTVAC06. This contract opportunity likely involves the purchase and distribution of pediatric and adult vaccines through the VFC program and other state immunization initiatives.
