NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE

The intended procurement is classified under NAICS code 334516 with a Size Standard 1,000.

REGULATORY AUTHORITY

The resultant contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-99-1, July 16, 2018. This acquisition is conducted under the procedures as prescribed in FAR 12.603 at an amount not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold ($350,000).

STATUTORY AUTHORITY

This acquisition is conducted under the authority of FAR 12.603, Streamlined Solicitation for Commercial Products or Commercial Services, and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. Additional authority includes 41 U.S.C. 1901 and FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii).

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Title: 4200 TapeStation System

2. Background Information: The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Genomics Core (NGC) requires the Agilent 4200 Tape Station to provide NIEHS with high quality sample analysis to assess nucleic acid quality genomics studies.

The Agilent 4200 TapeStation system is a walk away, automated gel electrophoresis solution to qualify and quantify nucleic acid samples during next generation sequencing (NGS) library production. Obtaining information about the integrity of your samples is an essential, time and cost saving step in the NGS workflow. The 4200 TapeStation system with its broad ScreenTape assay portfolio will support the NGC genomics workflows.

The Agilent 4200 TapeStation is an automated electrophoresis platform designed to provide rapid and consistent characterization of nucleic acid samples. The system will enable the NGC to qualify and quantify DNA and RNA samples during NGS library preparation and other genomics workflows. Its automated, walk-away operation will improve laboratory efficiency and allow multiple samples to be processed with minimal hands-on intervention.

The system's broad ScreenTape assay portfolio will provide flexibility to support the range of nucleic acid sample types encountered in NGC workflows. The ability to evaluate sample concentration and integrity will allow researchers to identify degraded, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable samples before committing them to downstream library preparation and sequencing.

The purpose of this request is to procure the Agilent 4200 TapeStation System:

• 4200 TapeStation instrument including laptop PC, software, vortexer, accessories, plastic consumables, user information and Installation and Familiarization.

• Separate nucleic acids by means of electrophoresis.

• Detects fluorescently stained double stranded DNA including genomic and cell-free DNA

• Detects fluorescently stained total RNA (Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic)

• Designed for professional use to exclusively run Agilent ScreenTape devices with associated reagents and specified consumables.

• Automated sample processing of ScreenTape applications for DNA and RNA at scalable and high throughput.

• Portfolio of ScreenTape assays

• The credit card-sized, disposable ScreenTape device carries multiple separation lanes for analyzing DNA and RNA samples. Each ScreenTape device has 16 lanes so that each sample is analyzed in an individual lane, completely eliminating contamination and carryover.

• The suite of TapeStation software provides instrument control for creation of experimental data and streamlines data analysis and reporting, and tools for system diagnosis.

• Interface USB (Instrument: USB-B; PC: USB-A)

• The Contractor is responsible for maintaining the system in working order for the extent of the warranty.

Period of Performance: This is a one-time supply acquisition with the duration of the maintenance agreement as specified in the resulting contract or purchase order.

Delivery Location:

NIH/NIEHS

111 TW Alexander Drive Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
