About this file

The document is a Wage Decision file from the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) covering wage requirements for public works projects in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The file details wage rate regulations, specifically addressing the City of Santa Fe Living Wage Ordinance effective March 1, 2023, which mandates a minimum wage of $14.03 per hour for workers within Santa Fe city limits. The ordinance applies to city contractors performing services, businesses receiving economic development assistance over $25,000, businesses requiring a city license, and certain nonprofit organizations.

The wage decision outlines specific requirements for employers, including how tips and commissions are calculated toward wage minimums and the applicability of the living wage across different types of employment. Employers must pay the specified minimum wage for all hours worked within Santa Fe city limits, with exceptions for certain Medicaid-funded nonprofit organizations. The document provides both English and Spanish language explanations of the wage requirements, emphasizing compliance with local labor standards and the City of Santa Fe's commitment to establishing a living wage for workers.
