About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a comprehensive UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) clearance project at Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) in Nevada. The project involves conducting subsurface and surface clearance operations within three existing stormwater detention basins, a stormwater channel, and an adjacent east area potentially designated for a fourth pond. The contractor must identify, assess, and safely render all Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH)/UXO as Material Designated as Safe (MDAS), with specific requirements including removing silt and sediment to depths of 2-9 feet depending on the area.

Key project requirements include submitting a UXO Safety Plan within 15 days of contract award, conducting weekly progress meetings, providing daily and weekly detailed clearance reports, and maintaining strict safety protocols in accordance with DA Pamphlet 385-64 and other military regulations. All personnel must possess current UXO certifications. The project has a 12-month period of performance, with deliverables including a Program Execution and Management Plan, UXO Clearance Reports, a Final Report, and a final clearance certification statement. The highest security classification is UNCLASSIFIED, and the project will require multiple permits from federal and state agencies, including Nevada Department of Environmental Protection.
