AMENDMENT 001

QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT ANSWERS

Q1: Request exact dimensions on the entry door to the Anechoic chamber for Wing Six.

0. Door width

0. Door height

0. Door threshold

0. Handle length

0. Distance from door edge to center of handle

0. Handle swing radius or heights from open to closed

0. Space between the back of the handle and the inside door face

0. Confirm door swing A1: Refer to the pictures and PDF sent by AEMI/MVG

0. (1) Door width (see door edge.jpg)

0. absorber width: 47 1/2"

0. door base metal width: 48"

0. (2) height

1. absorber height: 82 3/4"

1. metal height: 83 1/2"

0. (3) threshold

2. : floor to metal: 2 5/8"

2. floor to absorber: 3"

0. (4) Handle length

3. 14"

0. (5) Distance from door edge to center of handle

4. 3 1/2"

0. (6) Handle swing radius or heights from open to closed

5. height: 18"

0. (7) Height of handle from bottom of metal door edge

6. 34 1/2"

0. (8) Space between the back of the handle and the inside door face

7. 2"

0. (9) Confirm door swing

8. not on drawing - 100 degrees - hinge to door edge laterally 3 3/4"

Q2: Is the 6” absorber meant to wrap around the entire base of the robot as shown in the picture on page 20 of the Statement of Work?

A2: see included picture rear of robot and page 7-1 of the MH50-35 manual (similar for the MH50-20): The cabling and interface on the rear of the robot require that the rear of the base IS NOT COVERED (picture "rear of robot.jpg" has four M8 screws that are spaced 60 mm apart that a covering can be attached to.

See below: yellow area covered with absorber.

Q3. For all the removable flooring absorber (SOW Para 1.1.1 through 1.1.4), do you prefer smaller size absorber such as 2 ft X 2 ft or would larger pieces such as 2 ft X 4 ft or 4 ft X 4 ft be more desirable?

A3: A 2 ft x 2 ft is preferable single person lift to the 4ft level is desired

Q4. For the flooring absorber, the SOW states the absorber needs to be painted on all sides with a rubberized or flexible paint. Is NIST open to having the cut side of the absorber not painted?

A4. Cut sides need to be painted/ sealed to prevent debris and dust

Q5. Is your testing in the Anechoic chambers done at room temperature, or is there some temperature testing done as well. If so, can you specify the temperature limits for the chambers?

A5: All chambers are operating approximately 15-25 C or 60 -80 F

Q6. In the SOW para 1.2.5: Area A4 is to be covered with eight pieces of 8" X 2' X 2' flat foam. What is the area size in this paragraph?

A6: The area size is16 ft x 2 ft by 8 in

Q7: In the SOW para 1.3.3: You are calling out 1" flat foam for the inner area of the gantry support. You are also calling out 1" foam for the leading edge of the gantry support. Our assumption is that you would like the leading edge foam to overlap the foam of the inner gantry such that when looking at the leading edge of the gantry, you would see a 2" wide strip of foam on the leading edge. Could you confirm if our understanding is correct?

A7: 2 inches wide on the leading edge is acceptable. Or 1 in on the inner surface with a 1 inch thick by approximately 2 inch wide on the leading edge that overlaps the side. Either is acceptable.

Q8: Is drilling holes in the robot mounts acceptable for securing the absorbers?

A8: Yes, per robot mount - maximum size: ¼ inch. Maximum number: 16. Note if drilling in the range, proper precautions must be made to prevent shavings and grease from falling into the rails and absorber.

Q9: How are the absorbers adhered to the south wall of the anechoic chamber in Wing 6?

A9: Currently they are glued on the wall.

Q10: Can you provide where the hole placements are on the robotic arm for Wing 6?

A10: See attached for the available mounting holes for the wing 6 gantry

Q11: For the deliverables, what kind of drawings are required to be submitted?

A11: Drawings for absorber coverings for the moving robot pedestal and mount and drawings for absorber mounting/coverings for attachment to the robots
